Hello to all my friends and family!!
I hope this little “letter” finds you all doing well :) I’ve decided to take advantage of technology and send this out faster than snail mail…so here it goes!

Last year I had an incredible opportunity to go on a mission trip to Nicaragua to work with kids with special needs. This June I’ve been given the chance to return and continue to be a part of the awesome work God is doing! I will be going with a team from my church, Traders Point Christian Church, June 16-24. Our team is made up of occupational and physical therapists and special education teachers. While in Nicaragua we will be working with 2 schools that offer special needs programs (the public school system does not allow kids with special needs to attend). Our main purpose of the trip is to provide teacher workshops, an appreciation dinner, disability awareness, parental support, and personal needs of some of the kids.

When I was in Nicaragua last year, I was able to work with the therapist at the schools and share ideas for some of kiddos that were more involved. The biggest challenge that I became aware of was the lack of options for positioning whether seated or standing. For example, stollers, wheelchairs, high chairs, walkers, etc. As a therapist, the seating and positioning challenge was the one I wanted to take on.

So first and foremost I would love if you would join me in praying for our team and the people of Nicaragua! Secondly if you would like support me financially to help fund the trip but also be able to hopefully purchase some equipment or tools to build wherever the need is in the schools.

If you are interested in helping me out you can go to the church’s website www.tpcc.org and look for the online giving link near the bottom of the home page. When you get to the Amount, Purpose, and Frequency page, select “one time gift”, Short term mission-Nicaragua. In the memo line put my name and June 2012. Then follow the instructions for the rest of the process. The Missions team would like to have the money in by May 16th to get everything ready.
Thank you so much for your support and I appreciate you all!!
Take Care and I pray that God continues to touch your lives
Love, Arin (sorry this got so long!)

Choir – Starting Jan, 22nd

We’re getting a Choir together.  Well, it’s not a traditional choir.  We are going to be learning some songs written by Dave Burkum and help lead the congregation in singing them.  Every family in the congregation will be able to learn the songs ahead of time.  Most of the songs are Scripture songs and so we will be able to praise God with the words He has given!  We will practice every other week right after the Sunday service.  Please come and add your voice to the worship!
